Kaci Mallat

How did your business journey begin?
I had a quarter life crisis, and I wanted to do something similar to producing variety dance performances. I was a Dance major with a business minor in college, and coordinating a wedding is VERY much like producing a show!!! I started by interning with a wedding coordination company in Los Angeles, and after my internship, I was hired as a lead coordinator. The rest is history.

What do you value?
I value the huge commitment the couple has chose to make to each other. This vow should not be taken lightly. I feel like its one of the biggest decisions an individual can make in their lives.

What do you want your Ideal Client to know?
I want my ideal client to know that I 100% have their best interests at heart. Weather its a budget issue to a timing concern, my advice will be given from experience and my ability to look at the big picture.

What sets you apart?
I give my clients the service that I would want if I was the bride. My job is to make my couples' vision come to life...it is their day, not mine!

Where are you from?
Boscobel, Wisconsin

Fun Facts

02. I’ve always wanted to plan a wedding in… Italy!! We visited Rome, Florence, and Amalfi Coast this last summer, and it is so romantic and beautiful! Churches are on a different level. The word beautiful does not do it justice!!

03. Favorite part of a wedding is… I love watching the grooms face when the bride walks down the aisle. This is even better when they don’t do a first look.

How did your business journey begin?
My amazing friend Kaci started working as a wedding planner and coordinated my wedding. She thought I would be a good fit when she started her own business and I am still here!

What do you value?
I love the love. All the people that the couple knows in the same room to celebrate their love for each other. It is a special and magical thing that will never happen again (hopefully) in their lives.

What do you want your Ideal Client to know?
That the most important thing is that they get married. Everything else is fluff.

What sets you apart?
I like Dr. Who and British murder mystery shows. I have taught toddlers to dance for over a decade. I am very skilled at interacting with difficult personalities and hearding people.

Laguna Niguel, CA

How did your business journey begin?
I have been organizing and planning parties since I moved to California in 2012, but it wasn't until planning my own wedding in 2016 that I fell in LOVE with all things Weddings! I have always been excited about organizing and event planning, and since joining XOXO in 2016 I have fallen in love with helping couples share their love and putting on their perfect wedding day!

What do you value?
I value the way my couples feel. Both in the planning journey and on the actual wedding day! I want my Brides and Grooms to feel comfortable and excited!

What do you want your Ideal Client to know?
As a bride/groom, your only job on your wedding day is to: 1) Show up 2) Feel Pretty 3) Get married.
I will handle the rest. I got you.

What sets you apart?
My Attention to detail absolutely sets me apart! The detail in your vision, the detail in how you and your partner want to feel, the detail in the moments you want to create, and, of course, the detail of how everything comes together and runs smoothly on the wedding day!

Where are you from?
I am from Chicago, IL. I moved to LA in 2012 and have found my forever home!

How did your business journey begin?
I initially worked in theatre as a stage manager and after an actor friend of mine asked me to "stage-manage" her wedding, it evolved from there. I was very fortunate to have a great connection to XOXO Weddings and was so honored when they took me on as a lead coordinator!

What do you value?
My core values going into any wedding (and most everything else) are "grace" and "accountability." If everything I do, every choice I make with my clients starts with those things in mind, we will have a successful wedding and a good time in the process.

What do you want your Ideal Client to know?
I want your wedding to be as perfect as possible. I remember being the bride and my wedding planner (an XOXO planner!) making me feel so relaxed and secure - I want all of my couples to feel that way, too.

What sets you apart?
I've had a role in almost every part of a wedding -- I've been a planner, bride, officiant, maid of honor, bridesmaid, jr. bridesmaid, flower girl, Godparent, bachelorette/bridal shower organizer, guest...I want everyone to feel special!

Where are you from?
My family is from Oahu, Hawaii and the SF Bay Area!

Where did you go to school?
Chapman University

01. My favorite place in the world is: Waimanalo Beach

02. How I drink my coffee: w/ almond milk

How did your business journey begin?
For as long as I can remember, I have found great joy in organizing and, like most people, really enjoy celebrations and parties! Wedding planning is the perfect way to join two of my biggest passions. I love to listen to ideas, turn them into plans on paper, and then watch as they come to life on the wedding day. I started this journey by reaching out to XOXO Weddings to see if there was an opportunity for me to shadow their coordinators and learn as much as possible. Luckily, there was and I jumped at the opportunity. Since then, I have honed my planning skills by learning from the best, and working with the XOXO team has been a real dream come true.

What do you value?
What I value most about weddings is seeing two families become one. A wedding day can be chaotic at times, but taking a moment to stop and appreciate the real meaning of the day and what it represents to these families is extremely fulfilling.

What do you want your Ideal Client to know?
I would like my ideal client to know that I will always do my best to get them what they want and that I will do everything I can, but sometimes certain things just aren't possible.

What sets you apart?
I am not easily overwhelmed. I thrive in chaotic and confusing situations and love to come up with ways to solve any issues that arise.

Where are you from?
I was raised in Portola Valley, CA and have spent the last 8 years in Los Angeles.

Where did you go to school?
Loyola Marymount University

Fun Facts

01. My favorite flower: Peonies I think they are so versatile; they can be used with any design aesthetic. Vintage, elegant, contemporary, romantic, they can do it all!

02. My most-used app: Maps. I am terrible with directions, but I will always research a location and get there early.

03. My favorite part of a wedding is: The mother/son and father/daughter dances. There is something so magical about the moment when a parent and child take time out of the busy wedding day to appreciate this next step of life

How did your business journey begin?
I've always loved how celebrations bring people together, and even convinced my mom to let me plan my 7th birthday! Pretty quickly I learned how much I loved event planning, especially weddings! In 2012 I reached out to local coordinators in Upstate NY and started interning with an incredible mentor who I worked with for 3.5 years before becoming a coordinator full time in Lake George, NY. Once I met Kaci and Tanya at XOXO after moving to California I knew I had found the right people - everyone at XOXO loves helping people celebrate their love as much as I do and you couldn't ask for better people to work with!

What do you value?
I love the connection we get to build with couples as their coordinator - I still have a few couples that call me every year on their anniversary and it means so much!

What do you want your Ideal Client to know?
The only thing you should be doing on your wedding day is celebrating!

What sets you apart?
Problem solving and planning ahead! We always have a back up plan so anything that comes up is solved before you know about it!

Where are you from?
Lake George, NY

Where did you go to school?
I graduated with my Bachelor's degree from Siena College in Upstate, NY before going to UCLA for my post-baccalaureate certification in Legal Studies. I'm currently in the MBA program at Pepperdine University.

What do you want your Ideal Client to know?
I want them to know that their magical day is just as special to me as it is to my couple.

What sets you apart?
I think what sets me apart is my ability to focus on making sure that all vendors involved are top quality. I’ve worked as a Recruiter in the past, so identifying top talent is key to making everything run as smoothly as possible.

How did your business journey begin?
I actually started being interested in planning weddings because of my own wedding! My husband and I got married up in the Santa Cruz area, and our reception was in an old somewhat abandoned airplane hanger. So we basically had to bring everything in and plan and design from scratch! I loved creating it and afterwards started helping several friends with planning, organizing and designing their own weddings. Soon after that I met Kaci, and began assisting her and now I’m proud to be part of the XOXO team!

What do you value?
There are so many things!
I suppose if I had to pick just one I would say I place value in those special touches throughout the wedding day that are really tell the couple’s story. Whether that be personal vows, a special poem or verse read at the ceremony, or even signature cocktails or food! Those little details let the couple really put their stamp on their day, and it always makes the day that much more special for them and their guests. I love the little details that you remember forever.

What do you want your Ideal Client to know?
That I can handle any situation without conflict, and I will always be there to listen and help in any way I can. My main goal is to make your day the day of your dreams. I want my clients to rest assured that I’ve got everything handled and that they have nothing to worry about so they can be present and enjoy every moment of their day.

What sets you apart?
I’ve been a Manager, Director, Teacher and Producer in the past, and all of these things have shaped me into the kind of person that can handle many situations and wear many hats. From organization skills to communication I think my work history has really set me up as a successful wedding coordinator. I’m attentive, communicative, and organized. My goal is always to make sure the couples I work with feel taken care of and heard.

Where are you from?
Auburn, IN

Where did you go to school?
I have a bachelors degree from Ball State University in Indiana.
